Kansas Driving Instructor Positions
The Company is currently seeking candidates to immediately fill Driving Instructor openings
After students pass the required Drivers Ed Course 8-Hour Classroom Session, Driving Instructors provide 6 hours of Driving Instruction over three 2-Hour lessons that students must complete to finish the course.
Note: Kansas No Longer Requires Applicants To Be A Resident Of The State

Schoolyear Season
Sep Through Mid - May
With Students In Class Until Late Afternoons During The Week, The Hours They Are Available For Driving Lessons Are Limited To:
After School - 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Weekends - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Up To 16 Lessons (32 Hours) Per Week = $960

During The Schoolyear Season, Instructors Must Schedule A Minimum Of 10 Driving Lessons (20 Hrs.) Per Week
Summer Break Season
Mid - May Through August
With Weekdays Open, Students Have No Limitations For Scheduling Driving Lessons, And Are Available:
7 Days A Week - 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Up To 20 Lessons (40 Hours) Per Week = $1200
During The Summer Break Season, Preferred Instructor Schedule Is A Minimum Of 15 Driving Lessons (30 Hrs.) Per Week
About Kansas Drivers Ed
-
We are licensed by the State of Kansas as a Commercial Driving School, and act as an extension of the State Drivers License Exam Station by providing both the written and driving tests.
-
The State Regulations require us to provide 8 hours of class instruction via one 8-Hour Classroom Session and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, which we provide via three 2-hour driving lessons.

Passing our course allows students to receive their license without any testing at the Drivers License Exam Station.
Position Details
-
A State mandated 50 hours of training is included, after which Instructor will be licensed by the State Of Kansas as a Certified Driving Instructor.

Driving Lessons are conducted per the rules and regulations published in the Kansas Drivers Handbook, and the Kansas Graduated Drivers License requirements.

Students are ages 14 years old and up.
-
Driving Lessons are conducted with each student one-on-one with with no ride-alongs.

Instructors meet students at one of our four area locations:

South Overland Park - 151st & 69 Highway

North Overland Park - 76th & Metcalf
-
Shawnee - I-435 & Midland Drive
-
Prairie Village - 79th & State Line

Each lesson is video-recorded via an in-car camera with separate views of the entire front seat and forward-facing through the windshield.
Qualifications
Applicants Must:
-
Be at least 21 years old (insurance requirement)
-
Possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
-
Have 5 years of driving experience
-
Pass a basic physical exam (as required by the State of Kansas)
-
Pass a basic background check.
-
Possess and apply excellent communication and social skills.
-
Be patient and supportive, and be able to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.

Have the ability to self-manage while working in an autonomous environment.
-
Be able to maintain composure in the face of challenging situations by responding calmly and professionally.

Must have an upbeat, positive, and friendly personality.
General Responsibilities

Must accept the role as the student's advocate, and pledge to do whatever is needed to help the student succeed.

Must be non-judgemental, patient, understanding, and encouraging to students at all times.

Must be capable of completing necessary paperwork and maintaining student instruction files.

Must possess a cellphone for communicating with student's parent/guardian.
Vehicles

Driving instruction sedans are all nearly identical late model Toyota Camry's

We also offer exclusive SUV training in a Toyota Highlander.

The vehicle fleet varies from 15-25 vehicles.

Vehicles are based at each of our four locations:

All vehicles are equipped with an instructor-side brake pedal.

Vehicles are meticulously maintained by Burnett Automotive, which includes oil changes and maintenance, as well as regularly scheduled multi-point safety inspections.

Kansas Classroom Teacher Position
The Company is currently seeking candidates to immediately fill Classroom Teacher openings
Students begin the Drivers Ed Course by attending and 8-Hour one-day Classroom Session where they will be given a written test that allows them to obtain the State Learners Permit without any further testing at the Drivers License Exam Station.

Classroom Schedules
Our 8-Hour Classroom Sessions Are Conducted Primarily On Saturdays, And Also On Weekdays During Summer Break And Select Holiday Breaks Throughout The School Year

All Classroom Instructors must complete the National Safety Council Instructor Certification, with all training materials provided, and the $1,500 fee paid by the School.

Classroom Sessions are conducted per the School curriculum as approved by the State of Kansas, which meet all Kansas Graduated Drivers License requirements.

Qualifications

Have basic teaching experience, however, a teaching degree/certification is NOT required; experience training in a corporate capacity, conducting seminar presentations, group training sessions, etc., is a plus
